The Compiere ERP system comply with the business process management standards from the Workflow Management Coalition and Object Management Group.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compiere ERP has 3 types of workflows:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1) General Workflow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For giving step-by-step instructions to guide you in achieving a task. &nbsp;<br>Ex: Setting up Wizards or Daily \/ Weekly processes. A user starts them from the menu.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2) Document Process Workflow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workflow is useful when processing any document and to manage approvals.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ex: Special approval for orders exceeding the mentioned amount.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3) Document Value Workflow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workflow will be triggered automatically when an entity satisfies a defined condition. &nbsp;<br>Ex: Start credit approval for a new Business Partner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workflow Components in Compiere ERP<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nodes and Transitions<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Compiere ERP Workflow is comprised of one or more Nodes (Known as \u201cSteps\u201d). Each Node can have the following Actions:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Automatic Process \u2013 Any Process, Report, Task, Workflow, Document Action,&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User Action \u2013 Any Window, Form &#8211; User needs to confirm Completion&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set Variable \u2013 Any Column to Constant or Variable&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User Choice \u2013 Any Choice (e.g., approval), List selection&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait (Sleep) \u2013 can also be used for Start\/End\/etc.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Optionally, you can have conditions in between the node transitions. Also, you can add many transitions and each can be processed in sequential or in parallel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Approvals<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compiere ERP enable you to set up a workflow-specific approval hierarchy or use the default organization hierarchy defined in the system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entity in charge for a workflow can be an individual, a group, or an organization. Any individuals can take care of any nodes\/steps in a workflow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Priority, Escalation and Alerts<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compiere ERP comes with dynamic priority management, which enables you in using the workflow engine for call center routing and provide customer support on priority basis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can set up rules for escalation (Ex: inactive workflow) and send notifications to the corresponding workflow in charge and\/or to the supervisor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compiere&#8217;s core transaction management system is the Compiere ERP Workflow Engine.
