Settlement<\/strong> is the process of finalizing a payment or transaction<\/strong> by transferring funds from the customer to the business, confirming the transaction is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What User Can Do<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Initiate or process settlement of payments at the end of a transaction or day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Verify settlement status of payments or batches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Review reports showing settled and unsettled transactions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Approve or authorize settlements if required by role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Pre-Requisite Activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      • Close All Open Transactions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Reconcile Cash and Payments<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Check for Pending Authorizations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Manager Approval<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Business Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        • Settlement must occur at the end of each business day or shift<\/strong>, before starting a new one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • All transactions (sales, refunds, voids) must be closed or finalized<\/strong> before settlement is allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Only authorized users<\/strong> (e.g., cashier, supervisor) can initiate the settlement process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • The system must reconcile totals<\/strong> (cash, card, digital payments) during settlement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Once settlement is completed, no changes<\/strong> can be made to transactions included in that batch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Multiple settlements<\/strong> per day are not allowed unless approved (e.g., mid-shift closures).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
