The Discount Schema acts as a pricing rule that<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Supports both simple and quantity-based discounting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Reduces manual price adjustments during transactions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The discount logic is driven by the Discount Type<\/strong> selected in the schema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Defining the Discount Type<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Discount Type<\/strong> determines how the discount is calculated. iDempiere supports two discount types:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Flat Percent<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Breaks<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Each type follows a different pricing approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Flat Percent Discount Type<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      When Flat Percent<\/strong> is selected<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      • A Flat Discount %<\/strong> field becomes available<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The defined percentage is applied to total value of the order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The discount applies regardless of product quantity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        An additional option allows<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        • B.Partner Flat Discount<\/strong> \u2013 when enabled, the system uses the discount percentage defined at the Business Partner master instead of the value entered in the Discount Schema<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          This approach is commonly used when a single discount rate applies across all products or customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          When Breaks<\/strong> is selected<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          • A Quantity Based<\/strong> option is enabled<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • A new tab called Discount Breaks<\/strong> becomes available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            This allows discounts to vary based on ordered quantity or defined thresholds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Configuring Discount Breaks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            Within the Discount Breaks<\/strong> tab, users can define detailed discount rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Each Discount Break can include<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            • Product Category<\/strong> \u2013 specifies which products the rule applies to<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Note:<\/strong> If a product category is not specified user can define discount for a single product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • Break Value<\/strong> \u2013 defines the quantity threshold if Quantity based option is enabled or defines value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Break Percentage<\/strong> \u2013 discount applied once the break value is reached<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Flat Percentage<\/strong> \u2013 fixed discount applied for the break<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Business Partner Flat Percentage<\/strong> \u2013 when enabled, the discount is derived from the Business Partner master<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                These rules allow granular control over pricing and support volume-based discount strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Assigning the Discount Schema to a Business partner or Partner Group<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                The Discount Schema becomes active only when it is assigned to a Business partner or Partner Group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Once assigned<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                • All transactions using that Price List automatically apply the discount logic<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Users are not required to manually calculate or enter discounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  How the Discount Schema Is Applied in Transactions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                  During transaction processing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  • The system identifies the Price List used<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • The associated Discount Schema is evaluated<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Based on the Discount Type and rules, the applicable discount is applied<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • The final price is calculated automatically<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    By using Discount Schemas, organizations can standardize pricing rules, support both flat and quantity-based discounts, and reduce manual pricing errors.
