A Project Cycle<\/strong> is a high-level structure within iDempiere that represents the entire duration and sequence of activities in your project. It’s essentially a timeline that organizes various project phases and steps, enabling efficient tracking of progress and milestones. Creating a Project Cycle is the first step in managing a project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Project Cycle Creation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Access the Project Management Module:<\/strong>\n
      \n
    • From the iDempiere dashboard, navigate to the Project Management<\/strong> module.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Select Project Reporting<\/strong> from the available options to start.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Initiate a New Project Cycle:<\/strong>\n

      • Click on the New<\/strong> button to create a new project cycle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Fill in the necessary project details such as Name<\/strong>, Description (optional)<\/strong>, and Currency<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Save and Confirm:<\/strong>\n

            • Navigate back to the Project Management<\/strong> module and locate the previously created Project Cycle<\/strong> you wish to add steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Add a Step:<\/strong>\n

              • Click on the Save and Create New<\/strong> button to create a new step within the project cycle under Step<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Define the Step Name<\/strong> and a Relative Weight<\/strong> outlining the purpose of this step.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Relative weight of the step (0 = ignored)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • The relative weight allows you to adjust the project cycle report based on probabilities. For example, if you have a 1:10 chance of closing a contract when it is in the prospect stage and a 1:2 chance when it is in the contract stage, you may assign a weight of 0.1 and 0.5 to those steps.
