Introduction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Import Currency Rate window is a staging area in iDempiere where currency exchange rate data, loaded from a file, is reviewed before it becomes part of the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It supports businesses that trade or report in more than one currency, letting finance teams bring in daily or periodic exchange rates in bulk instead of entering each one by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the staged rates are accepted, they update the Conversion Rate records used for pricing, invoicing, and financial reporting across currencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • Records in this window are loaded from a file and are not meant to be typed in manually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Only active, non-summary Organizations are accepted; others are rejected with an error.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Currency Type Key must match an existing, active Conversion Type.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Both currencies must already be set up as active currencies for the business.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If either Multiply Rate or Divide Rate is left blank, the system calculates it from the other.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A blank Valid From date is automatically set to the current date during processing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Enabling Create Reciprocal Rate also generates the opposite currency pair automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Records with missing or invalid data are flagged with an error message and are not applied.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Only records marked Imported are reflected in the live Conversion Rate records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Step 1: Prepare the Exchange Rate File<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      The exchange rates must be arranged in a file before they can be brought into iDempiere, so the system knows which currency, rate, and date each entry belongs to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
