Usually the new customers are created in POS billing screen and stored in customer master. So that during customer&#8217;s next purchase they will selected in POS billing screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But customers like Credit customer and B2B customers are mostly created by the authority person in a store in customer master not in POS billing screen by cashier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to create a new Customer ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to application path Masters &gt; Partner Management &gt; Business Partner Rules &gt; Customer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the &#8220;Customer&#8221; master menu which is marked in below image.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tenthplanet.in\/idempiere\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/06\/c1-1024x614.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3418\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In customer list screen, click on the &#8220;New&#8221; option which is marked in below image to create a new customer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tenthplanet.in\/idempiere\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/06\/c2-1024x617.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3419\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Then in new customer creation screen, under customer tab enter the required details in following fields, ( Highlighted in red are mandatory fields)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Name &#8211; Enter Customer name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment term &#8211; Select the payment term (weekly, monthly and yearly)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Credit limit &#8211; Enter Credit limit amount (if the customer is credit customer)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobile No &#8211; Enter customer&#8217;s mobile number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address &#8211; Enter customer&#8217;s full address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Card No &#8211; Enter the loyalty card number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Join Date &#8211; Select the date of customer joined<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sales Representative &#8211; Select Sales rep for customer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To create a GST (B2B) customer, select the check box called &#8220;Need GST Bill&#8221; under field address. Once this selected, system will show the &#8220;GSTin No&#8221; input field to enter GST number of customer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the customer is IGST customer, then select the check box called &#8220;Other State IGST&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the creating customer is institution (is a company not a specific person), then select the check box called &#8220;Is Institutional&#8221;, if it is not selected, then existing customer will be a retail customer. For institutional customer loyalty points will be not added.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the required details were filled in customer tab, click on the save option and move to Location tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tenthplanet.in\/idempiere\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/06\/c3-1024x615.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3420\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Under location tab, we can see the auto loaded address from the customer tab. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We can also create multiple address for single customers ( like home address, office address)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select and remove the required check box which are marked in below image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the required details filled save the existing screen and move to next tab &#8220;Contact(user)&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tenthplanet.in\/idempiere\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/06\/c4-1024x615.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3421\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In contact user tab, enter required details in available fields.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Every field in this tab is optional to fill.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tenthplanet.in\/idempiere\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/06\/c5-1024x616.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3422\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only first three tabs are is enough to create a new customer in customer master.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other tabs are like reports which will show the data after the sales transaction of a created new customer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to deactivate a customer ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Created customer will not be deleted due to audit reason.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We can deactivate the customer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To deactivate a customer, open the customer and under the customer tab, remove the selected check box of the field &#8220;Active&#8221; and save.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tenthplanet.in\/idempiere\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/06\/c6-1024x614.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3423\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Customer master is the master screen where the business&#8217;s customers are created and maintained.
