This workflow covers enabling the necessary settings, defining product packagings, and understanding how reservation policies affect outgoing shipments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enable Packages and Packagings<\/strong>: Navigate to the <strong>Inventory<\/strong> module and go to <strong>Configuration<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Settings<\/strong>. Ensure that both <strong>Packages<\/strong> (for physical containers) and <strong>Product Packagings<\/strong> (for sales\/purchase units) are enabled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Configure Product Packagings<\/strong>: On the product form, go to the <strong>Inventory<\/strong> tab to define your packaging units. For example, you can set a &#8220;Box of 10&#8221; or &#8220;Pallet of 50.&#8221; Each packaging should have its own unique name and contained quantity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set the Reservation Policy<\/strong>: Navigate to <strong>Inventory<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Configuration<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Product Categories<\/strong>. You can select:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reserve Only Full Packagings<\/strong>: The system will only reserve products if they form a complete package unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reserve Partial Packagings<\/strong>: This allows the system to reserve any available quantity, even if it doesn&#8217;t complete a full package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Understand the Workflow<\/strong>: When a Sales Order is confirmed, Odoo checks the available stock. If &#8220;Reserve Only Full Packagings&#8221; is active and your order quantity doesn&#8217;t match a full package, the system will not reserve the items, keeping the full packages intact for other orders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Validate the Delivery<\/strong>: Open the delivery order to see the reserved quantities.
