Odoo provides a convenient feature called Vendor Product Change <\/strong>in the Inventory module that helps businesses seamlessly transfer products from one vendor to another when the same products are available from multiple vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access the Vendor Product Change in Odoo Inventory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Start by navigating to the Inventory<\/strong> module in Odoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the menu, go to Products \u2192 Vendor List \u2192 Vendor Product Change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This page displays all existing vendor product change records, showing details such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • From Vendor<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • From Product Count<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To Vendor<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To Product Count<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Create a New Vendor Product Change<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Click on the + New<\/strong> button to create a new record.
    A form will appear where you can define the details of the vendor product change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Select From and To Vendors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The From Vendor and To Vendor fields are mandatory for creating a Vendor Product Change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Choose the From Vendor<\/strong> from the drop down list.
      Instantly, the From Product Count<\/strong> field will update to show the total number of products associated with that vendor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Next, select the To Vendor<\/strong> from the drop down list.
      Similarly, the To Product Count<\/strong> field will update to display the total number of products linked to the selected vendor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Note:<\/strong> The From Product Count and To Product Count fields are read-only<\/strong> and automatically update based on the chosen vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Execute the Vendor Product Change<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Once both vendors are selected, click the Change Vendor<\/strong> button located at the top of the form.
      At this stage, Odoo will display a confirmation message such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cFrom vendor\u2019s products moved to To Vendor and No. of Product counts: 17.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      After this operation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The To Product Count<\/strong> updates to reflect the new total:
        (From Product Count + To Product Count)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The document status automatically changes from Draft<\/strong> to Done<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Validation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        If you attempt to click the Change Vendor<\/strong> button again after the document is completed, Odoo will display an Invalid Operation<\/strong> warning message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u201c<\/em> Vendor A. K. SHOE CO. has already moved products.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        This ensures that the vendor product change cannot be processed more than once for the same record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Verify Vendor Change in Product<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Finally, open the product that was associated with the From Vendor.
        In the product\u2019s Purchase<\/strong> tab, you will now see that the To Vendor<\/strong> has been added automatically.
        The new vendor entry will also inherit the From Vendor\u2019s basic cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
