In Odoo, Organizing products becomes much easier when each item is associated with a clear and recognizable Brand. It provides a simple way to create and manage these Brands so you can keep your product list structured and easy to work with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessing the Brand Screen in Odoo Inventory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To begin, go to the Inventory<\/strong> module, then navigate to Configuration -> Warehouse Management -> Product Brands<\/strong>. This section provides a centralized view of all the created Brands in a Kanban view, which gives a visual overview of each brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you prefer a more detailed list format, you can easily switch to the List view<\/strong> to see brand names and related information such as Manufacturer , Description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Searching for an Existing Brand<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you need to search a specific brand, use the Search Bar<\/strong> at the top of the Brand screen. You can search using the Brand Name<\/strong> or Manufacturer<\/strong>. This makes it easy to find and update existing brand details without scrolling through long lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating a New Brand<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To create a new brand, click the +New<\/strong> button. In the brand creation form, enter the appropriate brand name in Brand Name<\/strong> field. This field is mandatory<\/strong> for creating a new brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, enter the Manufacturer Name in the Manufacturer<\/strong> field. As you type, Odoo will display a drop down list of existing manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the manufacturer doesn\u2019t exist yet, you can quickly create one by selecting Create<\/strong> or Create and Edit<\/strong> to add additional details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the brand is saved by clicking the save option, then navigate to the Product Master to assign that brand to specific products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After assigning brands to products, the system automatically links them together. In each Brand form, you will see a Products<\/strong> smart button appears at the top, displays the total number of products linked with that brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clicking this button will show the list of all products mapped to the brand in the Kanban view.This feature makes it easy to manage and track which products belong to each brand directly from the brand record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unique Brand Validation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you attempt to create a brand with a name that already exists, Odoo will display a validation alert: \u201cBrand must be unique!\u201d<\/strong>. This ensures your database remains clean and free of duplicate entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deleting a Brand<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If a brand is not linked to any products, it can be deleted safely. This helps keep your product data clean and organized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if a brand is already assigned to one or more products, the system will not allow deletion and throws validation alert: “Cannot delete this brand as it contains products.”<\/strong>. This restriction ensures that no product data is lost or left incomplete by mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
