Purchase tax (input tax) is the tax a business pays on goods or services it buys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To access a tax, go to <strong>Invoicing -&gt; Configuration -&gt; Tax ,<\/strong> and click <strong>New<\/strong> to create a new tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Create a new tax<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When creating a tax, the<strong> Tax Name<\/strong> field is mandatory and must be filled in. You can also provide additional details in the <strong>Description<\/strong> field to explain the purpose or specifics of the tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tax Computation <strong>:<\/strong> In the dropdown, select:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Group of taxes : <\/strong>Refers to the Normal Tax.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Percentage of the price:<\/strong> Calculated as a CESS and IGST Tax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Active<\/strong> checkbox is used to activate the tax.<strong> Tax Type<\/strong> allows you to select whether the tax applies to purchases or sales. <strong>Tax Scope<\/strong> defines the type of product the tax is used for. If the <strong>Tax Computation Type<\/strong> is set to <strong>Group of Taxes<\/strong>, you need to select both <strong>SGST<\/strong> and <strong>CGST<\/strong>. The <strong>Taxes<\/strong> list is grouped by default, and the <strong>Tax Name<\/strong> column displays the name of each tax. The <strong>Description<\/strong> column shows the tax description, and the <strong>Tax Type<\/strong> indicates whether the tax is for Sales or Purchases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On invoices, the <strong>Label on Invoices<\/strong> field displays the tax percentage along with the description. The company name is also shown.
