JAVA FX by Stephen Chin
JUG (Java user group) organized technical lecture by Mr.Stephen chin Java champion in TenthPlanet Technologies. There were about 130 odd participants (Job seekers and Techies) assembled in FirstPlanet Technologies. Mr.Rajmahendra Hegde of JUG Chennai welcomed the attendees and introduced Stephen Chin. After a brief intro Mr.Stephen Chin started off with the Technical items. He lectured to job seekers and techies on JavaFX.

Facebook User Group Chennai Meetup on 25th January 2014 Playing With Graph API, Google App Script And Privacy Settings. This is our third Facebook event and we had such an awesome time organizing it! I think Vignesh and me have really grown as organizers over the past few months. This was by far our most perfect event yet!
The event was called “Playing with Graph API, Google App Script and Privacy Settings”. Last event was a Developer only event, but we thought it would make sense to have a User oriented event also. I think that worked out for us since we got to have more of a conversation with the crowd rather then them just listening to us!

Seminar on Supply vs Demand of IT industry by Vice President TCS
Mr.K.Jayaramakrishnan has around 30 years of IT experience and has been working for TCS for the past 19 years. He shared that the poor employability percentage of IT Freshers is because of mismatch of supply versus demand of IT skill sets from industry perspective. He also shared the team effort is key to learning, for example in group studies in college one prepares one topic and teaches others and learns other topics from others. This saves time and gives more knowledge of the subject.

Dr. Mailswamy Annadurai, Project director CHANDRAYAN appreciated the efforts of Tenth Planet Open Source Foundation in its endeavor to motivate children who aspire to become an astronaut. He launched the ISROKIDZ a venture of first planet aimed to educate kids on space sciences. He shared his childhood days with everyone and stressed that we should always be slightly ahead of our peers. He also spoke about former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s 2020 vision.

June 30th 2011 there was a big turning for 4 jobseekers who were hired by Polaris. Mr. Rohit and Mr.Suresh from polaris met Jobseekers who are doing SATORI DIY program. They explained the requirements of Polaris from IT freshers. They said aptitude and attitude play an important role in a jobseeker’s selection. There was a small question and answer session where jobseekers asked for interview tips. The executives handed over the offer letters to jobseekers who said how SATORI-DIY had realy helped them to get their career started in Polaris.

Tenth Planet Open Source Foundation opened manavalakkalai yoga training centre for job seekers along with Valga Valamudan. SKM Mailanandham the eggpreneur and the president of world community centre was the chief guest. Mr.Mailanandham shared his success story with the micropreneurs of the First Planet, how he became a millionaire from a normal business man. He said the key point to success lies in creating a product based on customer needs, getting customer feedbacks and improving the products based on the feedbacks. He delivered the motivated speech to the job seekers. He and his valga valamudan team opened the manavalakalai yoga training center for job seekers by releasing the banner.

Hopenhagen to project real heroes of life
Tenth Planet Open source Foundation along with First planet with the support of Dr. MB Nirmal, Founder ExNoRa International organized Hopenhagen an event to bring the unsung heroes of life to limelight. The ExNoRa practitioners who contribute daily for protecting mother earth were felicitated.
There were 20 presentations on how waste can be converted to wealth. The practitioners discussed the waste management techniques that is employed in neighborhood (Civic Exnora), Temples, Hospital, Office and Flats. Mr. Indrakumar presented home exnora practice. He explained how home farming, sky farming could improve our economy.

Open source job fair for job seekers
SATORI 2008 first planet road show was conducted on 28th February 2008 at image auditorium Chennai. Employers and customers participated in this show. The focus of SATORI 2008 was education and employment. 50 Jobseekers after 2 months training presented their study project to over 1000 Jobseekers who had come for enrollment in SATORI. There were many questions from the audience section on job market, process, technology, skill sets and entrepreneurship. SATORI T shirts were given by CLO to Jobseekers and Job providers.
