Project Work flow
Main Menu-->Project Setup--> Project Setup
The project Type defines the quantities, Standard and the tasks to be exhibited for the projects. A project is the actual work document with a defined start and end date. A project may have phases and tasks and will have lines associated with the defined level.
Enter a Name, Description, and Help/Comment to define this Project Type.
Select a Project Category from the drop-down list box. Project Category determines the behavior of the project.
Project Category Work order
Creates Project/Job Work instruction procedure transactions – the ability to issue material through the Job work order.
Project Category
Asset – create Project Asset transactions – the ability to issue material.
Service Category: Service Request Projects will be maintained.
Project Reporting

In general, The Project Cycle has Four stages. Initiation, Planning, Execution, and closure.
Project Reporting defines the steps involved that we would like to report in a project. For e.g., if we are planning to report the Presales project we would like to combine the Potential contacts and the Qualified deals.
The Project Defines the Standard tasks for the project
The Project is the actual phase with a defined start and an end date.
The Project will have phases and tasks and Line items will be associated with the project.
Click on add new button to add the new project cycle. Enter the Name and the required Description. Select the currency from the drop-down.
To add the tasks or the line items for the project
Select the Sequence. Enter the name of the phase or the task to be carried out and assign the Relative weight [It allows us to define on Probabilities. Ex we have a chance of getting a customer in the prospective stage is 3:7 and change during the contract stage is 1:2. Then we can put a weight of 0.42[3/7] and 0.5 [1/2]. We can validate which stage is less or more]. This allows us to include different phases and compare them one by one.
Project
Project Management --> Project
The Project defines the Actual Project. Projects may include time and materials and have definitive Phases and Tasks, or they may be used for tracking tasks like presale.
Enter the Name of the project, Description and the Note. Select the Active Check Box to make the project Active. Select the line level of the phase, Project or the task . Select the project and the system will copy all the phases required for this described Project. Enter a Contract date and the finish date. Enter the planned amount, quantity and the Margin. Select the copy details if the line items has to be copied from the existing project. If the Line Level is selected as project then Generate order button will be active.
