How to Implement Least Package Removal in Odoo18

This video shows how to implement Least Package Removal in Odoo 18. This strategy is designed to minimize the number of packages removed from stock, which helps in optimizing warehouse space and reducing handling time.

The following steps guide you through the process of setting up and using the Least Package Removal strategy:

• Enable Packages: Navigate to the Inventory module and go to Configuration -> Settings. Under the “Operations” section, enable the Packages checkbox and click Save.
• Configure Removal Strategy: Go to the Inventory module and select Configuration -> Locations. Choose the location where you want to apply the strategy and select Least Package from the “Removal Strategy” drop down menu.
• Verify On-Hand Quantity: Check the inventory levels for your products. The video uses a product with an on-hand quantity of 76 units, spread across various locations.
• Create a Sales Order: Navigate to the Sales module and create a new quotation. Add the product and specify the quantity (e.g., 5 units).
• Confirm the Order and Delivery: Once the sales order is confirmed, go to the Delivery record. Odoo will automatically reserve the requested quantity from the location with the least number of packages, optimising stock removal.
• Validate the Removal: Click Validate to complete the delivery. You can then check the inventory levels to see that the products were indeed removed from the specified location.
