Create Reception Report

This video demonstrates the Reception Report feature in Odoo18, specifically how it helps manage the link between manufacturing and sales when dealing with stock deficits. It illustrates how to allocate finished products directly to pending sales orders as soon as they are manufactured.

  • Solving Stock Deficits: The narrator begins by explaining a scenario where there is a high demand for a product (e.g., 100 units) but only a small amount in stock (e.g., 10 units). The Reception Report is used to bridge this gap by tracking products as they move from production to delivery.
  • Creating a Manufacturing Order: To address the stock shortage, the video shows how to create a Manufacturing Order (MO) for the required quantity. This order is based on the demand from multiple sales orders that are currently in a “waiting” state due to insufficient stock.
  • The Allocation Tool: Once the manufacturing process is initiated or completed, the narrator navigates to the “Allocation” button on the MO. This opens the MRP Reception Report, which lists all the specific sales orders waiting for these products.
  • Assigning Products to Sales Orders: The video demonstrates clicking “Assign All” within the Reception Report. This action reserve the newly manufactured stock for those specific customers (e.g., MRF Tyres, Covestro India), ensuring that the products are not accidentally sold to someone else.
  • Finalizing the Delivery: After the stock is assigned via the report, the narrator returns to the Sales Orders. The delivery status has now changed to “Ready.” The video then shows how to validate these deliveries and ship the products to the customers, completing the sales cycle.
  • Improved Efficiency: By using the Reception Report, businesses can ensure that back-ordered items are immediately routed to the correct customers without manual cross-referencing between the manufacturing and sales departments.
