Split Delivery Order
This video provides a practical guide on how to Split a Delivery Order in Odoo18, which is useful when a customer orders a quantity of goods that cannot be fulfilled in a single shipment due to stock availability or other logistical reasons.
- Create a Sales Order: Navigate to the Sales module and create a new quotation for a customer, adding the desired products and quantities (e.g., 4 units).
- Confirm the Sales Order: Once the order is confirmed, a Delivery Order is automatically generated.
- Access the Delivery Order: Click on the Delivery smart button to open the delivery record.
- Modify the Quantity: In the Operations tab, change the quantity to the amount you can currently fulfill (e.g., 2 units instead of 4).
- Split the Order: Click the “hamburger” menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner of the delivery form and select Split. This action will create a new delivery order for the remaining quantity.
- Validate the First Delivery: Click Validate to complete the shipment of the initial quantity.
- Process the Remaining Delivery: Once you have the rest of the items in stock, you can access the second delivery order from the sales order or the inventory dashboard and validate it to complete the entire order.
Splitting delivery orders allows for greater flexibility in managing customer expectations and warehouse operations, especially when dealing with partial shipments.
