Introduction about Move History in Odoo18
The steps below guide you through accessing and utilizing the Move History report in Odoo 18. This workflow is essential for auditors and warehouse managers who need to track exactly when, where, and why products moved between locations.
- Access the Move History Report: From the Odoo dashboard, open the Inventory module. Navigate to the Reporting menu and select Moves History. This opens a comprehensive list of all completed and pending stock movements.
- Understand the Data Columns: The dashboard displays key information for every move, including:
- Date: The exact timestamp of the movement.
- Reference: The source document (e.g., WH/IN/0001 for a receipt or WH/OUT/0005 for a delivery).
- Product & Lot/Serial Number: Identifies exactly what was moved.
- From & To: Shows the source and destination locations (e.g., from “Vendor Location” to “WH/Stock”).
- Quantity & Status: The amount moved and whether the move is “Done,” “Available,” or “Cancelled.”
- Analyze Historical Trends: Use the Filters to narrow down data by specific timeframes (e.g., “Last 30 Days”) or move types (e.g., “Incoming” vs. “Outgoing”). This helps in identifying peak operational times or potential bottlenecks.
- Group and Categorize Data: Use the Group By feature to organize the list by Product, Location, or Category. This is particularly useful for seeing a “log” of every move a specific item has ever made across your warehouse.
- Export for Auditing: Like most Odoo reports, the Move History can be exported to Excel or PDF. This is the primary document used during physical inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies between system records and actual shelf counts.
- Drill Down to Source Documents: You can click on any individual line in the Move History to open the original Transfer or Sales Order that triggered the move, providing full “traceability” from the warehouse floor back to the office.
