Packages Intro
A Package is a physical container (like a box, pallet, carton, or container) that holds one or more products and moves as a single unit within warehouse operations.
Simplified Packaging: The narrator explains that using packages is an efficient way to manage product shipments, as it allows items to be grouped together in boxes or on pallets for easier tracking and transportation.
Enabling Packages: To use this feature, start by navigating to the Inventory module’s Settings and checking the “Packages” box under the Operations section.
Creating a Package: The video shows how to create a new package by going to Products > Packages and clicking “New.” A unique package reference is automatically generated.
Configuring Package Details: In the package form, you can specify the Package Type (e.g., Pallet), set the Shipping Weight, and assign it to a specific Company or Location.
Tracking Contents: While the narrator notes that products are often added during the transfer process, the package view allows you to see all the items currently contained within that specific unit.
Streamlined Logistics: The video concludes by emphasizing how packages simplify inventory movement and delivery operations, providing a more organized approach to warehouse management.
