How Inventory Changes Work in the Product Master in Odoo
Inventory changes are mainly used for to update multiple product records in bulk efficiently, maintain accurate and consistent product data, reduce manual editing time and errors and streamline inventory and product information management.
Accessing the Inventory Change Feature
- From the Main Menu, click the Inventory module.
- In the Products Menu, Select the Product Master .
- Use checkboxes to select products you want to update.
- Click the Inventory Change menu at the top.
- This action opens the inventory Change form for modifying product details.

Update Can Be Purchased
Select Yes or No in the Can Be Purchased dropdown to specify if the product is available for purchase.
- Select Yes if the product can be bought from suppliers.
- Select No if the product is not available for purchase.
Helps control which products are available for procurement. Ensures accurate inventory and purchasing management.
Update Product Category
Select the desired Product Category from the dropdown to update categories for selected products.
Click Search More to view additional available categories. Use the search bar to quickly find specific categories if needed. Choose the appropriate category that fits the selected products.
Update Product Brand
Select the desired Product Brand from the dropdown to update brands for selected products. Click
Search More to view additional available brands. Use the search bar to quickly find specific brands if needed. Choose the appropriate brand that fits the selected products.
Note: The system throws an Invalid Operation warning when attempting to change the brand of products that already have existing transactions.
Update Scheduled Days
Select the desired Scheduled Days from the dropdown to update them for selected products. Ensure the scheduled days are correctly reflected in the product’s MBQ section under “Scheduled Days (Delete Draft PO)”.
Update Sales Classification
Select the desired Sales Classification from the dropdown to update them for selected products.
Ensure the Sales Classification are correctly reflected in the product’s MBQ section
under “Sales Classification”.

Save the Inventory Changes
You can update all the fields for selected products or change only specific fields. After making the modifications, click the Update button to save the change Ensure accuracy across your entire product database.
