How to Filter, Search and Group the Stock History Report Data in Odoo Inventory

The Stock History Report in Odoo is a useful tool for reviewing all past stock movements in your inventory. Whether you want to see what items came in, what went out, or what was moved between warehouses, this report helps you understand your stock activity clearly. Below is a simple guide on how to search, filter, group, and save your report using favorites.

Accessing the Stock History Report

To view the Stock History Report, go to the Main Menu and choose Inventory. Under the Reporting section, select Stock History Report. Once the report opens, you can use the search bar to find specific information such as warehouse location, product name or code, transfer type, transaction reference, product category, or a particular lot or serial number. These search fields help you quickly locate the stock details you need.

Applying Filters to Refine the Results

Odoo provides several filters to help you narrow down what you want to see in the report. By clicking the dropdown arrow near the search bar, you can filter by transaction types such as Done, Incoming, Outgoing, or Internal. This makes it easy to focus on completed movements, stock coming in, stock going out, or stock transferred within your business.

You can also filter by date using the Date dropdown, which includes options like the last three months, quarters (Q1–Q4), or the last three years. If you need something more specific, the Add Custom Filter option lets you select a field, choose the condition, and enter a value. Once added, the report updates instantly to match your selected filters.

Grouping Stock History for Better Analysis

Grouping helps you organize your report so you can analyze patterns more easily. You can group the data by clicking the dropdown icon in the search bar and choosing Group By. Options include Product, Status, Date, Transfers, Location, Category, and Carrier. These groupings help you view stock activity based on different criteria—for example, grouping by Product shows all movements related to each item, while grouping by Location displays stock activity per warehouse.

You can also create a Custom Group if you want to organize the data differently. This allows you to choose additional fields to group by, giving you more flexibility in analyzing your stock movements.

Saving Filters and Groupings Using Favorites

If you often check the same type of stock history, Odoo makes it easy to save your settings using the
Favorites option. After applying your search terms, filters, and groupings, click the Favorites dropdown at the top. From there, select Save Current Search. You can give saved search a name and choose whether you want it to load automatically each time you open the report. This saves time and ensures you always see the data you need without setting up filters again.
