How to Manage and Search Orders in the POS Order Screen in Odoo

In the POS Order Screen, you can view in-progress POS orders. If an order is ready for payment but is still pending, it may be because the customer wants to purchase additional items.

Accessing the Menu

• Open the POS screen.
• Click the menu icon in the POS cart screen.
• A list of menu options will be displayed.
• From the list, click on “Orders” or using shortcut key Shift+g. to view the list of all POS orders.

Order Details Displayed

For each order, the following information is displayed: the order date, receipt number (order number), order number as shown by each POS terminal, customer name (if selected), cashier name, total amount, and order status.

Using the New Order Button

The New Order button is visible only to Head Cashiers. If you are logged in as a Cashier, you need to switch to Head Cashier to enable it. Clicking the New Order button creates a new, blank order and moves the current order to the order list for later use or completion.

Searching Orders in POS

• Orders can be searched by Order Number (Receipt Number) or Customer Name.
• Use the search bar to scan or search the order number.
• Select the Receipt Number filter to view matching orders.
• To search by customer, enter the customer name and select customer fielter.
• The selected customer’s orders will be displayed.

Order Filters Overview

A filter dropdown is located at the top-left corner. Default filter: All Active Orders.

Available filters

• All Active Orders
• Ongoing
• Payment
• Receipt
• Paid

Filter – All Active Orders

• Displays all orders except those with Paid status.
• Shows orders with statuses like ongoing, payment, and receipt.
• Useful to track all current active transactions.

Filter – Ongoing Orders

Shows orders where products are added but not yet completed Includes:

• Orders created by clicking New Order.
• Orders with products added but pending further action.
• Orders under this filter show status as Ongoing

Filter – Payment Orders

• Displays orders currently on the payment screen.
• Includes orders left in payment without completing the final step.
• Status displayed as Payment.

Filter – Receipt Orders

• Shows orders completed but the receipt screen was left open.
• Orders not followed by creating a new order are listed here.
• Status displayed as Receipt.

Filter – Paid Orders

• Displays all fully completed and paid orders.
• Only orders with Paid status appear here.
• Useful for reviewing closed sales.
