How to Search, Filter and Group the Purchase Analysis Report in Odoo Purchase
The Purchase Analysis Report in Odoo Purchase helps you understand your buying activities, track vendor performance, and monitor overall purchasing trends. By using the Search, Quick Search, Filter, and Group By options, you can quickly find the exact information you need.
Search Options in the Report
The search bar helps you quickly find purchase records using any keyword. It works as a “contains” search, meaning even part of a word can bring up matching results. Common searchable fields include vendor details, product names, warehouse, purchase representative, company, key dates, and product categories.

Using Quick Search options
You can search by dates such as Order Date by entering a specific date range. Searches can also be done using the Vendor, PO Representative who handled the order, the Company involved in the transaction, or the product Category.

Applying Filters in the Report
Filters help you narrow down the data based on conditions you set. Odoo offers ready-made filters such as Requests for quotation, Purchase Orders, Confirmation Date Last Year, Order Date and Confirmation Date-based filters that show records from a specific month, quarter, or year.
When you need more control, you can add custom filters. You simply choose a field, select a condition, and enter the value to match.

Grouping Report Data
Grouping lets you organize purchase data visually. You can group by fields such as division, department, category, sub category, vendor, Vendor Country, Purchase Representative, product, product category, status, company, or by dates like the order date or confirmation date.
Grouping helps you quickly compare data. For example, seeing how many orders were made per vendor or how purchases are spread across product categories. You can also apply multiple levels of grouping for deeper analysis.
Saving Favorite
If you regularly use certain filters or groupings, you can save them as favorites. After applying your search or filters, you can save the current view with a name and choose whether to make it the default or shared. Later, you can easily reload the saved view from the favorites menu or delete it, if it’s no longer needed.
