How to Search, Filter and Group the Sales Summary Report in Odoo POS
The Sales Summary report in Odoo POS helps you understand your daily sales, customer activity, and team performance. By using the Search, Quick Search, Filter, and Group By options, you can quickly find the exact information you need.
Opening the Sales Summary Report
To begin, open the Point of Sale module from your Dashboard. Then click the Reporting menu and select the Sales Summary report. This page displays all your POS transactions and gives you a clear overview of your sales activity.
Search Options in the Report
At the top of the report, you will see a search bar where you can type any keyword. Odoo automatically checks different areas where the keyword might appear. The system may search within Order, Customer, GST No, Order type, or Point of Sale. These options help you quickly locate specific orders, customers, or POS terminals without manually scrolling through the data.

Quick Search Options
The Quick Search feature provides additional ways to refine your results. You can use the Date filter to choose a start and end date and view transactions for that period. The Sales Team filter helps you check the performance of different teams. You can also filter by POS, Order Type, Company, Customer Phone, or Customer GST, making it easy to find customers using their phone number or GST number.

Using Filter Options
Filters allow you to narrow down your report even further. Selecting GST Invoice shows orders from registered business customers, while Retail displays retail transactions. The Today filter shows only the orders created on the current day, and the Is Refund filter helps you view only refund transactions. The Date filter also lets you choose a specific month or year using a drop down.
You can create your own filter by clicking Add Custom Filter. For example, selecting Cashier allows you to add a condition such as Cashier = VELLAISAMY, which helps you track sales handled by a specific cashier.

Using Group By Options
The Group By feature helps you organize and view your report in meaningful sections. You can group the data by Company, Point of Sale, Cashier, Customer, Industry, Order Type, or Sales Team. There are also time-based options, such as Order Date, which lets you choose a month or year, and Hour Wise, which breaks down orders by the hour of the day.
If you need more groupings, you can click Add Custom Group and select from additional available fields.
