How to process a Sales and Delivery Order for No Tracking Products in Odoo Sales

Processing Sales Orders and Delivery Orders in Odoo is simple, especially when working with products that do not require lot or serial number tracking. These No Tracking products make sales and delivery operations fast and efficient because no traceability steps are needed.

Enabling No Tracking for Products in Odoo

Before creating a Sales Order, make sure the product is set to No Tracking in the product configuration. This ensures that Odoo will not require serial numbers or lot details during the sales and delivery process, allowing you to handle these products more quickly and efficiently.

Creating a Sales Order in Odoo Sales

To begin, go to the Sales module, open the Orders menu and click Orders. On the Sales Order screen, you can create a new order by clicking the +New button. Select the customer from the drop down and once you click Save, Odoo will automatically generate a unique Document Number for the order.

You can add products by selecting them using the product code or product name and then entering the required quantity. Since the product’s Unit of Measure (UoM) is set to kg, Odoo also allows you to enter quantities in decimal values, giving you more flexibility when selling weight-based products. Since this is a No Tracking product, the lot selection is not required.

After selecting the appropriate pricelist, the Unit Price will display the selling price based on the chosen pricelist. Odoo then automatically calculates the taxable amount, tax and total amount, giving you a complete and accurate pricing breakdown for the Sales Order.

The system allows you to save and confirm the Sales Order without any warnings related to lot numbers. After filling in all necessary details, click Confirm to finalize the Sales Order. Once confirmed, the Delivery button becomes available.

Accessing the Delivery Order

Click the Delivery button to open the Delivery Order linked to the Sales Order. Odoo will automatically generate a new Document Number for the delivery. The system also fills in key information such as the Delivery Address, Scheduled Date and Deadline Date.

Next, select the Source Location from where the products will be picked. Based on the location and available quantity, the system updates the product availability. The original Sales Order number will appear in the Source Document field for easy reference.

Completing the Delivery Order in Odoo Sales

The products added in the Sales Order automatically appear in the Delivery Order with the same quantity in both the Demand and Quantity fields. Since the product is set to No Tracking the lot selection is not needed. Once everything is verified, click Validate to complete the Delivery Order.

Updating Stock in the Product

After validation, Odoo automatically reduces the on-hand quantity of the product based on the delivered qty. So for No Tracking Products the sales and delivery order is processed successfully without the need for any lot details.
