How to Print a GR Return and View Its Details in Odoo

Printing a GR Return in Odoo helps maintain a clear and formal record of goods that are returned to a vendor. This printed document supports inventory tracking, financial records, and audit requirements. It also ensures full traceability by clearly showing the products, quantities, lot numbers, MRP, and reference details involved in the return.

Printing the GR Return Document

Once the GR Return process is completed and validated, you can print the document from the same screen. Click the Settings button and choose Print. A dropdown will appear, where you need to select
Picking Operations to generate the GR Return print. Printing is allowed only after validation; if the return is still in draft, Odoo displays a message asking you to validate the record before printing.

Layout and Information Displayed on the Print

The printed GR Return includes a clean layout for easy checking and documentation. At the top center, the title “Purchase Return” is displayed. On the top-left side, the company name and logo appear together. The delivery address shown on the print reflects the vendor’s details since the products are being returned to the supplier.

The print also includes important reference and date details. The reference line shows the source document in the format Return of [GR Document No.]. The date of the return is shown clearly, along with the movement date that indicates when the stock was actually moved out.

Product, Lot, and Quantity Information

The GR Return print lists all returned products along with their HSN codes for clarity and compliance. Lot numbers are automatically pulled from the original GR, so there is no need to enter them manually during the return process. The print also displays the MRP of each product and the quantity that was returned. This ensures that all details match what was recorded during the GR Return, making it easy for verification and tracking.
