How to run the Minimum Balance Quantity update process in Adempiere Retail
MBQ (Minimum Balance Quantity) refers to the minimum stock level that must be maintained for a product to avoid shortages. The MBQ Update Process involves defining or updating these levels based on sales trends, safety stock requirements
User Access
Who Can Access
- Admin
- Cashier
- Purchase Manager
- Back office
What User Can Do
- View existing MBQ for products
- Update or set new MBQ values per product, branch, or warehouse
- Bulk upload MBQ data using import templates
- Generate reports to compare current stock vs MBQ
Pre-Requisite Activities
- Complete product master setup
- Categorize products based on sales/usage frequency
- Analyze historical sales and stock movement data
- Finalize MBQ calculation logic (fixed, moving average, etc.)
- User roles and access rights for MBQ update must be configured
BUSINESS RULES
- MBQ must be greater than zero for it to trigger replenishment
- MBQ cannot be set for inactive or discontinued products
- Only authorized users can modify MBQ values
- System should prevent MBQ updates during stock freeze periods
- Any MBQ change must be logged for audit
- Replenishment logic uses MBQ to trigger purchase or stock transfer suggestions

STEP 1: To select the MBQ(MINIMUM BALANCE QUANTITY) Update Process.

STEP 2: To select any one parameter based on the customer requirements and to click the start check box.

STEP 3: Once to run the process to show this popup window total number of products updated.And to click the check box.
