How Does Quarterly Invoice Customer by Product Work in iDempiere

The Quarterly Invoice Customer by Product report provides a customer-focused view of invoiced retail activity by product category for a selected date range.

Retail teams use it to review sales transactions, invoice amounts, margins, discounts, limits, list amounts, and invoiced values across product categories.

It supports quarterly sales analysis without changing the underlying invoice transactions.

Business Rules

  • Date Invoiced defines the reporting period used for the analysis.
  • Sales Transaction controls inclusion of sales transaction activity.
  • Business Partner filters the report to the selected customer.
  • Product Category filters the report to selected product categories.
  • Multiple Product Category values can be selected in one run.
  • Report rows show the customer with the applicable product category.
  • Margin and discount metrics are displayed with matching invoice activity.
  • Run as Job is available for background report execution.

Prerequisites

  • Business Partner records are configured for customers.
  • Product Categories are configured and assigned to products.
  • Products are configured and available on sales transactions.
  • Completed sales invoice or transaction data exists for the period.
  • The user role can access the report and required master data.

Menu → Reports → Quarterly Invoice Customer by Product

The parameter screen shows Date Invoiced, Sales Transaction, Business Partner, Product Category, Run as Job, View Report, Print Format, and Summary. The output shows customer and product-category invoice metrics.

Configuration Steps

Step 1: Set the Invoice Date Range

  1. Enter the required start and end dates. The sample uses 05/01/2026 through 07/31/2026.

Step 2: Select Sales Transaction

  1. Enable Sales Transaction when sales transaction activity should be included. The supplied screen shows it selected.

Step 3: Select the Business Partner

  1. Select the required customer. The sample uses ALPHA RETAIL SOLUTIONS.

Step 4: Select Product Categories

  1. Select one or more categories. The sample includes SPORTS SHOES and Standard.

Step 5: Configure Execution and Output

  1. Select Run as Job when background execution is required. Choose View Report, Print Format, and Summary as needed.

Step 6: Run and Review Results

  1. Click OK and review Sales Transaction, Business Partner, Date Invoiced, Margin, Line Amt, Discount, limits, List Amt, Product Category, and Invoiced.
