How to Generate Production from Project
iDempiere enables seamless integration between Project Management and Manufacturing, allowing users to generate production orders directly from planned project phases. This ensures that project planning is converted into executable production with minimal manual intervention.
Generating Production from the Project
The production generation process starts from the project, where planned quantities are converted into a production document.
Production generation includes
- Navigating to Generate Production from Project
- Selecting the required Project
- Selecting the relevant Phase and Phase Line
- Starting the process to initiate production creation
Once the process is completed, a production document is automatically created in the Production (Single Product) window.
Creating and Completing the Production Document
After the production document is generated, production lines must be created based on the product’s Bill of Materials (BOM) and the document must be completed.
Production processing includes
- Navigating to the Production (Single Product) window
- Locating the newly created production document
- Clicking Create / Update Production Lines
- Selecting the appropriate BOM Formula
- Confirming to add the production lines
After the production lines are generated, the document is completed to finalize the production process.
Completing the production document triggers
- Consumption of raw materials as defined in the BOM
- Creation of the finished product in inventory
- Posting of production-related accounting entries
By generating production directly from projects, iDempiere ensures that planned quantities defined at the phase or task level are accurately converted into executable production orders without manual re-entry.
