How the Material Reference Report Tracks Inventory Movements
The Material Reference Report in iDempiere provides a transaction-level view of material movements across the system. It helps businesses understand where a product came from, how it moved, and where it was used, all from a single reference report. This report does not create or modify transactions. It only reads existing inventory movements such as receipts, issues, transfers, and production usage.

Inventory Traceability
Each line in the report represents a material movement linked to its source document, such as a purchase receipt, production issue, project issue, or inventory movement. By reviewing these references, users can trace stock usage without opening multiple windows. This is especially useful for construction and manufacturing environments where material accountability is critical.

Operational Review Support
The Material Reference Report helps answer common operational questions:
- When was this material received?
- Where was it consumed?
- Which document caused the movement?
It is commonly used during internal reviews, audits, and stock investigations.
This report improves visibility without impacting operations, making it a reliable tool for inventory control and audit support.
