How Project Lines Not Issued Works in iDempiere
The Project Lines Not Issued report shows planned project materials or services that are not yet issued. It highlights the gap between planning and execution at the task line level, helping teams track pending work and maintain accurate project execution and accounting control.
What This Report Represents
The report lists only those task lines that meet all of the following conditions:
- The task line is created and active
- The task line is linked to a project, phase, and task
- The task line has not been issued to the project
- No completed issue to project document exists for that line
If a task line has already been issued, it is considered executed and is automatically excluded from this report.
How the Report Determines “Not Issued” Status
In iDempiere, a project task line is considered issued only after it completes the required operational flow. This usually includes:
- A related transaction such as an issue to project
- Successful posting that links the consumption back to the project
If a task line does not yet have an issued document linked to it, the system treats it as not issued, even if other transactions (such as purchase orders) exist.
This distinction ensures the report reflects actual execution, not just planning or procurement.
Running the Project Lines Not Issued Report
To begin, open the project lines not issued report from the reporting or project control section of iDempiere.
In the report parameter screen, select the relevant project. This tells the system which project’s task lines should be evaluated.
Once the project is selected, execute the report.

The system immediately evaluates all task lines under the selected project and displays only those that have not been issued.
Understanding the Report Output
The report output presents each not issued task line as a single row. Each row represents a specific material or service requirement that is still pending issuance.
From left to right, the report helps you understand:
- Which project the line belongs to
- The phase and task where the work is planned
- The product or service involved
- Planned quantities and amounts
- Whether any procurement document is already linked
- Whether the task line has been issued or processed

This structure allows project managers, procurement teams, and site supervisors to quickly identify what remains open without navigating through multiple screens.
How Project Execution Affects This Report
As project execution progresses, task lines move in and out of this report automatically.
A task line appears in this report when:
- It is created as part of project planning
- It represents a material or service
- It has not yet been issued to the project
A task line disappears from this report once:
- The required issue transaction is completed
- The system links the issued document back to the task line
This behavior ensures the report always reflects the current execution status of the project.
Relationship with Procurement and Project Issues
It is important to understand that procurement alone does not remove a task line from this report.
For example:
- A task line may have a purchase order linked
- The purchase order may even be completed
- If the material or service is not yet issued to the project, the task line still appears in this report
This design ensures that project visibility is based on actual consumption, not just purchasing activity.
Using the Report for Daily Project Control
Teams commonly use Project Lines Not Issued to:
- Track pending materials or services before site execution
- Ensure planned work is followed up operationally
- Avoid missing project issues during busy execution phases
- Validate that project consumption aligns with planning
Because the report updates automatically as transactions are completed, it can be safely used as a daily or weekly control report without manual reconciliation.
Outcome
By using project lines not issued, iDempiere provides a clear and reliable view of planned project requirements that are still pending execution. This ensures that no material or service is forgotten, project progress remains aligned with planning, and execution gaps are identified early. As task lines are issued, the report updates automatically, giving teams confidence that project status, cost tracking, and operational control remain accurate and up to date.
